Back to the coffee pot I go this morning. Is it my first refill? My second? Oh whatever the number, I am just hoping that this next cup will energize me for the day. Or the morning. Or this next hour… heck these next few minutes! Morning inside my house can be rough, I am not going to lie. Sometimes I even feel begrudged that I am out of bed before I am ready (I love you, my precious babies, I do).
And then a thought crosses my mind as I catch a glimpse of this beautiful image. This image is like the energy I need each morning. The sunshine, my first sip of coffee. The sweet scent of dew, my refill. The fragrance of flowers, my second trip to the carafe. Each detail just wakes me up to the new day as I catch the energy of this sweet child of God anticipating the joy of the field she is lingering in. I find myself wanting to prance around the tall, soft blades of grass, breathing deeply the scent of spring! Oh Pennsylvania, today will be a good day!
The chirping birds and the green grass are not the only ones rejoicing over the sunshine of recent days! Oh my sweet heart, this girl brings such joy to my life! That smile. That squished up little nose. Those eyes that can barely be open because the laughter is just too much! Does it get any more joyful, folks? This is the joy of childhood. The joy of warm sunshine. The joy of giggles and silliness. This is the joy of Jesus! How amazing that he created the seasons and the budding flowers that come back to entice us to play year after year. Oh, the grass is perking up, the daffodils have bloomed, the wasps are coming out (oh woops this is about joy…), the trees are growing leaves! And I’m so happy, so very happy. I’ve got the love of Jesus in my heart!
There’s something magical about the 2nd birthday. Yes the 1st birthday is fun, but baby’s can’t really celebrate when they turn one. Many of them don’t even like the taste of their first birthday cake! 😉 Two on the other hand is another story. Two is an age of discovery, learning, magic, imagination, silliness! At two they can make believe, go on adventures to the moon, cook a yummy mud pie.. so much more. Now granted, two year olds don’t like to sit still for a traditional portrait, but if you know our work by now you know that doesn’t matter. We capture real life, real moments, reality of the joys of turning two. Happy birthday little loo!
There
A very merry unbirthday to you.. to you! 🙂
I cannot even begin to tell you how excited we are about the new storybook sessions and even cooler is the awesome response we’ve had from our clients and fans. With that said, i think its only fair that you get to see the entire storybook session from beginning to end and so that is why I can’t stop sharing these Wonderland photos. Alice discovered the white rabbit, followed him into his rabbit hole.. and then what happened? Well she shrunk and grew and shrunk again until she was just the right size to enter the world of Wonderland. 🙂
